Can you mix new tunes on the fly or need to practice?
What I mean is do you need to preview and practice with new tracks or are you so gangster that you have it like that?
And is seeing waveforms on a pc cheating? (cause i am starting to think so) IMO
Its kinda like writing down track times..... _________________ "Well, um let's see. I started by getting completly hammered drunk, it was bad. Well, I can beat match pretty much any two records without ever hearing them. However, it helps to know where tracks break and drop to pick the prime places to mix in & out of.... if that makes any sense. _________________ DO NOT TOUCH THE TRIM!!!

They way I look at it. Waveforms, cue points, mixed in key, etc... are all tools. Its all in how you use them. I can cue point the hell out of a track and know EXACTLY where I need to be. How frustrating is it when your just using records and you miss that point? This is a tool to help prevent that. _________________ Sorted Mixes

Can be done--but why be lazy---just to be a rockstar? _________________

| The only time I go in without a plan is at the afterparty when no one is standing around sweating what you're doing too much.

| With practice always better, or you're just lucky. Still, nothing quite like that new vinyl feel.

thats why I bought a digital recorder. got tired of wasting many blank cdrs. I always try to record even the very first time with a new batch of tunes just in case they do go together well that first time. if nothing else ,I can remember which ones worked well together and tighten things up on the next take. but yeah, the waveforms do help out and I do not see that as cheating, its just using your tools properly. I think as long as you do a good mix,it doesnt much matter how you got there, does it? _________________ "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. IMO, the only real cheating is when you use software that beat matches for you. Seeing a wav is helpful, but you still have to match it yourself; you can still fuck up. _________________

I never get to practice since I don't have equipment anymore.... and I never plan a set. I am keen on Serato's tools, tho. It's like changing a tire with an pneumatic wrench instead of a tire iron. The tire won't change itself, but it's much easier with better tools... or something. _________________ Mixes | Myspace | Ghost Industries | Facebook | Betamorph

exactly. it's like saying the electric guitar is useless.
even if it's tunes i know or if i plan or don't plan, really the best thing for me is just 20-30 minutes on the decks to get settled in and it usually falls in after that _________________ --
