About 404 Audio

404Audio was founded in January 2003 to provide a vibrant online community experience for the burgeoning Atlanta Drum & Bass scene. Spearheaded by a joint effort between Mayhem, Evol Intent, B:Rok and the Encore Agency, 404Audio quickly grew to encompass involvement and support from virtually everyone with a stake in seeing the Drum & Bass movement in Atlanta grow and thrive. Fans, DJs, promoters and producers and all coalesced to form what we now feel is a unique collective organization capable of fostering a healthy, sustainable culture that’s open to everyone who wishes to participate.

Initially launched as an online discussion forum, 404Audio has expanded into a variety of roles over the past four years. Along with Shadow Law Recordings and The Mark Ultra Lounge, 404Audio promotes Transit, Atlanta’s premier weekly Drum & Bass event. We’ve also released music by local producers on the 404Audio Recordings imprint while simultaneously providing local artists with free webhosting for DJ mixes and unsigned music. Most recently, 404Audio has launched a retail store in Downtown Atlanta that specializes in providing music, clothing, and a public cultural space to the local Drum & Bass community. As Transit nears its three year anniversary and 404Audio.com launches a freshly re-designed website, it’s clear that 404Audio will continue to promote all aspects of Drum & Bass in Atlanta for a long time to come.
